The Role:
This role is required to:-
* Develop new cross EFV timing plan and maintain detailed plan of weekly deliverables
* Hold and manage cross EFV meetings and ensure agendas are updated and relevant parties invited
* Derive and maintain the simulator and beyond shared vehicle plan and review EG VUP's
* Coordinate initial responses, raise vehicle requests for new vehicles and manage the EFV vehicle fleet.
* Coordinate milestone plans and facilitate supplier FMEA and FUSI reviews
* Act as interface between EF/V functions to develop and maintain common test plans, ensuring streamlined and efficient development activities that deliver output in line with PEP and aligned to BIL.
* Coordinate test vehicle timing, delivery and usage management between the EF/V functions, managing updates and maintenance to safeguard critical test activity.
* Organise test activity logics, including booking of vehicle transport, travel and proving ground usage.
* Spare parts monitoring and procurement and shipping to support testing.
* Act as liaison between EF/V and EF/P to ensure timely delivery of PEP deliverables, project targets and PVR testing.
* Supplier coorindation (where appropriate) including raising of outsource purchase orders via LSC.
* Representation of EFV in project and cross functional meetings
EFV sharing of vehicles in order to reduce the cost of high expense prototypes derives the need for closer sharing of accurate time plans and coordination which is currently impacting already high workload within the EFV teams. The project coordinator will be the catalyst for allowing successful vehicle sharing and realising the savings in reducing proto numbers.
A significant amount of the Engineer's time is currently taken up covering the activities above, which whilst necessary to deliver their respective objectives, does not need to be carried out by skilled vehicle calibration engineers.
The increasing complexity of both vehicle systems and the Bentley Cycle Plan requires a re-distribution of responsibilities to ensure there is enough resource to develop the complex systems within EF/V. It is increasingly difficult to find experienced engineers in the field of Vehicle Dynamics, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Electronic Stability Control Systems.
This role creation is a way to better utilise the specialist skills of the engineers we currently have within EF/V. It will also strengthen the coordination of activities within EF/V, where complex interactions of systems and sharing of development vehicles requires detailed project and vehicle usage planning. This role will protect the delivery of complex vehicle dynamic systems as the Bentley Product Portfolio grows and diversifies.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a high-level Development Plan that links the tuning/calibration activity for Vehicle Dynamics, Electronic Stability Control and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Plan is required to take into account of Project Deliverables (BIL timing, Pre-Series Builds, Drive Events) and interdependencies between EF/V functions.

* Develop and maintain timing and tracking system for all EF/V vehicles that allow the usage planning, and tracking of hardware and software levels to ensure the vehicles are available and fit for purpose for EF/V development activities. Liaise with engineers to plan hardware/software updates to keep vehicles up to date to allow calibration of partner systems.

* Plan updates of the vehicles;
o Agree the necessary resource with the engineering workshop
o Organise for the relevant parts to be available in time and software updates to be carried out.

* Responsible for booking vehicle transport, proving ground usage, travel and provision of spare parts required to support EF/V development activities

* Provide interface with EF/P FPMs and Integration Technicians to ensure:
o Project Targets and deliverables are met, and any general project issues are discussed and resolved
o Liaise with EF/V engineers to track PVR deliverables and interface with EF/P where appropriate

* Support EF/V engineers by generating Purchase Orders for:
o Outsource development partners (eg. Bosch) via LSC when required
o Proving ground/test facility usage
o Development vehicle parts and consumables
