The Role:

* Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and best practice
* Work proactively with the onshore and offshore teams to provide timely and accurate environmental advise
* Support & promote the environmental element of the HSE management system within the Asset Group
* Actively seek areas for environmental improvement and development sustainable solutions
* Assure the quality of incident investigations performed by Asset sites / operations and their compliance with Repsol Sinopec Resources UK procedures
* Develop close working relationships with the onshore and offshore teams
* Follow and comply with company Golden Rules, Procedures, & Policies and hold others to account to do the same

Key Duties

* Environment focal point for specific assets providing support and assurance
* Assure operations delivery of risk management and compliance with the Law and Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Procedures
* Engagement with operations to establish and implement management strategies for environmental issues
* Continuous improvement of all environmental elements within the HSE Management System
* Repsol Sinopec Resources UK internal and external facing Asset Group Environmental Advisor
* Maintain awareness of existing and proposed changes to environmental legislation, Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Standards and industry best practices
* Fulfill Competent Person role within the Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Assurance Model
* Deliver the annual environmental audit program
* Act as focal point for regulatory inspections and track all resultant actions to closure
* Support incident investigations so that lessons can be learnt and are effectively communicated across the Asset Group and to the Corporate function
* Provide direction and support to site HSE Advisors and Environment Champs
* Monitor site permit compliance and coordinate permit updates / renewals
* Monitor operations and performance data against targets and regulatory limits
* Support delivery of site specific Environmental Improvement Plans
* Fulfill role as Environment Contact on the Emergency Response Team

Education attainment & Accreditation

* Relevant degree or post graduate diploma (or equivalent) in an environmental discipline or a core science would be preferred

Professional skills & experience

* Previous experience as an Environmental Advisor for an offshore operator is favoured
* Knowledge and understanding of the UK regulatory regime

* Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders

Our Client is an O&G exploration and production company based in Aberdeen who operate in the North Sea. They have interests in a large number of fields, the majority of which they operate, on the UK Continental Shelf with numerous offshore installations and one onshore terminal.
