The Role:
Position Overview
This role will ensure the successful specification and delivery of a range of projects to the business by leading and working closely with other project managers and business department managers and key representatives.

Accountabilities
* Work closely with the business to ascertain the specific requirements and provide detailed recommendations regarding cost effective and sustainable IT solutions
* Regularly review projects with project managers and provide strong support and feedback to project delivery teams

Key Duties
* Work with IT project managers and the IT teams to deliver a high quality, project delivery service ensuring that the internal IT team is the partner of choice for the business department
* Work with the business to identify business problems and opportunities and define IT solutions to support business systems developments
* Develop 'fit for purpose' IT recommendations which accurately reflect business needs. Ensure such recommendations are consistent with IT compliance, structure and environments
* Perform requirements gathering, including, eliciting requirements, requirements organization, requirements management and communication
* Responsible for the preparation, co-ordination and presentation of analysis documentation which will clearly define the analysis outcomes and resolution of a specific IT analysis task
* Planning, monitoring and control of any IT enhancements as a result of analysis activities
* Using IT resources at an advanced level to create IT solutions, enabling organisations to better meet their goals
* Develop and foster close working relationship with the wider IT operational & support teams
* Work with the IT project managers and the business relationship managers to define, develop, prepare and seek approval for the IT budget for the delivery of projects
* Support and assist in the development of a long term projects plan for the relevant business functions that will assist the IT group and departmental managers understand the long term application & systems roadmap
* Liaise with IT infrastructure and support teams to ensure that proposed project solutions are technically sound and that they can be accommodated within the infrastructure and support framework
* Provide advice and information to the Business teams with regard to the deployment and use of information technology and surrounding issues
* Ensure that appropriate processes and systems are in place to meet all required regulations and licensing terms and conditions throughout the delivery of projects and take steps to ensure that policies, procedures and strategies are implemented and followed appropriately
* Promote IT standards and policies within IT systems as they evolve
* Contribute to technical and project management teams to enhance the ability to deliver quality projects
* Work with project resources and the business to ensure that delivered projects are of a high quality and that delivered products have very good sustainability

Accountabilities
* Responsibility for defining and co-ordinating and ensuring the successful delivery of projects
* Responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring the delivery of multiple IT related business projects

Education Attainment & Accreditation
* Graduate or equivalent in technical or science discipline preferred but not essential
* Ideally the candidate should have oil and gas industry experience in an IT environment


Professional skills & Experience
* IT Business Analysis Experience in an oil and gas environment strongly preferred
* Working within IT projects in the up-stream oil & gas Industry across a number of operational and service areas
* Undertaking requirements analysis, tendering the work and delivering contractual terms and agreements for the provision of software, hardware and services
* The post holder will be highly numerate, processes strong analytical skills, self-motivated and require minimum guidance
* Proven experience in a fast paced, changing environment
* Proven track record of working well in a team environment
* Strong knowledge of IT concepts and a wide range of technologies and their potential to resolve business problems

Interpersonal Skills & Qualities
* Confident, enthusiastic and strong leadership capability
* Comfortable in discussing technical aspects of projects with technical and management personnel
* Able to tackle and resolve difficult issues; enables change and continual improvement
* Customer focused with excellent communication skills
* Strong team player who can provide support and challenge in a constructive manner to project managers, senior managers and business representatives
* Logical and pragmatic problem solver

Our Client is an O&G exploration and production company based in Aberdeen who operate in the North Sea. They have interests in a large number of fields, the majority of which they operate, on the UK Continental Shelf with numerous offshore installations and one onshore terminal.
