One Key Resources are proud to partner with Rio Tinto Kestrel Mine in providing skilled labour and professional services across the mines operation. Overall our objective is to develop strong values-based teams who live out the ideals of safety, teamwork, respect, integrity and excellence.

Due to increased operational demands, we are currently recruiting an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to provide technical knowledge and day to day guidance across the mines operation. To be successful in this position you require a strong safety culture, well developed business acumen and ability to work as a part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
The Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for the following critical aspects at Kestrel:

  • Support the operation by responding to site incidents and events in a controlled and appropriate manner.
    • Facilitating incident investigations including developing appropriate actions to prevent repeat events.
    • Conducting incident/injury reporting and data analysis.
    • Supporting the Safety and Health Superintendent with injury classification process.
    • Provide coaching to line leaders to improve incident and investigation practices.
  • Building health and safety capability within the line, including an understanding of the Rio Tinto Management System and local legislation.
  • Compliance reporting both internally and to external government agencies.
  • Project Management (initiating, developing and implementing) safety and health programs and solutions.
  • Maintaining the site Health Risk Register and site Safety Risk Register.
  • Improving SHMS compliance.

The Successful candidates will have;

  • Demonstrated experience as a Health and Safety Advisor.
    • Mine Site or Heavy Industry
  • Tertiary Qualification Required - Health and Safety
  • Current QLD Coal Board Medical with Chest X-ray
  • Current Standard 11 Statement of Attainment
  • Proof of Australian working entitlement (e.g. Birth Certificate, Passport or Citizenship Certificate)
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical
