One Key Resources are currently recruiting for experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters in Mt. Isa (residential role) for our client a mining services provider.

These positions are a rare opportunity to go directly permanent with the client, with one of the most prominent businesses in Mt.Isa with as many hours on offer as one can handle!
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Heavy Diesel Fitter role will provide the opportunity to work with an experienced team of qualified trades people as well as the following:

  • Ongoing maintenance and service of Underground Mining Equipment and Machines;
  • Ensuring all maintenance repairs are performed in accordance with Company guidelines and within cost targets;
  • Providing support to the rental fleet as required;
  • Working with customers to meet company objectives; and
  • Career development opportunities working for an organisation with Australia-wide coverage.

We are looking for:

  • A strong commitment to safety;
  • Relevant nationally recognised trade qualification with significant post-trade experience with heavy earthmoving equipment; Underground equipment preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with and solutions focus;
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team; and
  • 2+ years Mining experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Underground experience desirable

Role requirements:

  • Mining experience as a Diesel Fitter having worked on some or all of the following:
    • Dump Trucks
    • Dozers
    • Excavators
    • Graders
    • Loaders

The qualifications/certificates required include:

  • Trade Certificate
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current Coal Board Medical
  • Proof of Australian working entitlement (e.g. birth certificate, passport or citizenship)

The qualifications/certificates desirable include:

  • Licence to conduct high risk work with dogging, rigging, crane and work platform classifications will be highly regarded
  • Working at Heights
  • EWP
  • Crane & Forklift certifications
  • Dogging Ticket
  • High Risk Licences all desirable

  • 5:2 Rosters, M-F 10 hour days expected as the minimum, however as many hours on offer as you can handle! Home every evening - in-town role
  • Salary packages range from $117k - $200k p.a. + with a competitive hourly rate
