One Key Resources, part of the Fircroft Group, is a specialist provider of Managed Workforce and Labour Hire solutions to the Mining, Oil & Gas and Infrastructure Industries. An employer of choice, One Key Resources employs Open Cut and Underground Operators, Tradespeople and Support Staff at close to 100 locations across Australia.

We are seeking a Project Lead - Engineer to work at our clients head office based in Adelaide. This position will be initially for 16 months with the potential to go a little longer depending on the project demands.

Our client is a Tier 1 Mining contractor who requires skilled, experienced and safety minded individuals for ongoing opportunities.

Your main responsibilities in this role are as per below:

  • Manages and leads project Definition (DPS) phase of assigned projects to ensure a value optimised business case has been identified, with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, cost, and capital efficiency
  • Supports Study Lead in development of execution deliverables for SPS phase development
  • Manages and leads project Execution phase(EXE) of assigned projects to ensure funding commitments are met in safety, quality, cost and schedule
  • Pro-actively manage project safety by ensuring the team are meeting/exceeding field leadership targets, identifying leading indicators and trends, assist with solving potential safety issues/trends and prevent them from re-occurring
  • Leads the identification and management of risks, communicating risks to relevant stakeholders and identifying solutions. Provides guidance to Manager Projects on material risk management and relevant mitigating actions
  • Complete both weekly and monthly reports including safety statistics, schedule and budget progress, achievements, project risks and concerns on relevant project portfolio
  • Manages stakeholder involvement in the development and delivery of a project\program of projects
  • Drives compliance of all development & delivery deliverables with all statutory and operational and technical standards.

The qualifications/certifications and experience required include:

  • Degree - Engineering (preferably mechanical engineering)
  • Project Management & Project Execution experience in projects >$20m, preferably in brownfields area
  • Experience in diagnosing project management / planning deficiencies and putting plans in place to correct these
  • Experience in working with external engineering providers
  • Be able to fly to site for 2/3 days at a time when required
  • Must be based in Adelaide
  • Available for the full duration of the contract period
