One Key Resources, part of the Fircroft Group, is a specialist provider of Managed Workforce and Labour Hire solutions to the Mining, Oil & Gas and Infrastructure Industries. An employer of choice, One Key Resources employs Open Cut and Underground Operators, Tradespeople and Support Staff at close to 100 locations across Australia.

On behalf of our client, a gold operator with operations across WA with a global presence we are seeking a Senior Geologist - Resources working on site reporting into the Chief Geologist.

The position will be responsible in the ongoing management of the geological database and orebody modelling.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Monitor the management, quality and performance of assay laboratories used by site.
  • Design, maintain and monitor processes ensuring the integrity of all grade control and resource models for input into the overall mine plan.
  • Coach and mentor geology teams in model estimation, validation and reporting.
  • Complete and review data tables for the submittal of resource and reserve statements.
  • Monitor QAQC process and results.
  • Ensure the drilling schedule to ensure is in line with operation and model schedule targets. Provide input into optimising infill drilling programs design.
  • Ensure integrity of grade control and resource models.
  • Provide reporting and documentation of geological models.
  • Participate in audits and reviews of mineral resources.
  • Assist with Continuous Improvement and Change Management initiatives.
  • Attend relevant safety meetings relevant to display a clear commitment to safety and health.
  • Operate in accordance with and comply the Company's Safety and Health Policy.

Skills & Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology (honours desirable)
  • Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
  • Senior First Aid certificate (desirable)
  • Proven competency in orebody interpretation, wireframing, and modelling estimation methodologies
  • Minimum 10 years geological experience in the mining industry (gold)
  • Production environment experience - preferably both underground and open pits.
  • High level of competency in the use of modelling and estimation software - Vulcan.
  • Experience using Leapfrog / Edge highly desirable
  • Good understanding of geostatistical, classical estimation methods and reconciliation processes
  • Computer literate: Microsoft SQL and Access.
  • Previous supervisory experience, strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all geological and environmental tasks.
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
