The Company:
Our client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
For our client we are looking for an Accountant. On offer is a 12 months contract, Perth based. In this role your key responsibilities are:

Project Accounting
• Manage designated work packages/contracts and finance interface between Project Execution, Project Controls and Contract teams for those packages
• Review cash calls and cash forecasts to ensure integrity and compliance with accounting requirements
• Support the team with review and input for Value of Work Done accruals
• Develop monthly spend analysis reporting
• Provide assistance with compilation of budget and forecast data for project budgeting process
• Monitor invoices and perform the role of Cost Object Approver to ensure costs are correctly coded
• Provide assistance to manage contracts including monitoring of approval flows in accordance with Project Delegation of Authority (DOA) and P2P procedures
• Assist Accountant with financial month end procedures, including compiling accruals for input into JDE, preparing general journals, and performing general quality control tasks across the month end process

Labour and Non Labour Processes and Procedures
• Implement and maintain processes and procedures relating to labour and non labour charges from Contractors to Company, whilst ensuring robust verification of payments and invoices.
• Oversight and review of Labour Database analysis and Personnel Assignment Authorisation Form (PAAF) reviews completed by Assistant Accountant - Labour. This includes ensuring that PAAFs are for appropriate staff on the Project and that costs are in line with the associated Contracts.
• Analysis of terms and conditions of associated Contracts for approved/denied invoices to Company.
• Key point of liaison with Project Controls and Contracts teams to ensure that contractual requirements and associated costs are in line with forecasted costs and the terms and conditions of the underlying Contracts.

Conduct business analysis to support management decision making
• Continuously improve processes and gain the support of Finance, Project Controls, Contracts and other teams to implement and manage change
• Build and maintain excellent networks with Contracts, Project Controls, and other points of interface of the team. Act as a contact to resolve issues that may arise between these parties and Finance.
• Maintain clear documentation of the process, relevant decisions and work instructions.
• Maintain understanding of Australian Tax issues, and ABU policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In order to fulfil the role you must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following aspects:
• In this role you will be degree qualified with broad experience in Project Accounting
• You must have a background in labour and non labour processes and procedures
• You must have proven experience in conducting business analysis to support management decision making
