The Role:
The position is in one of the top players of the oil and gas upstream industry. A management accountant prepares, develops and analyses key financial information in the monthly and quarterly financial pack submitted to Company's Headquarters. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities in financial reporting, year end audit preparation and SOX internal controls. The Management Accountant will have contacts with Group and Regional finance teams which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and oral.

Prepare periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries;
Analyse financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts;
Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Respond to queries from Group and Regional offices , and other finance managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
Work with the Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
Assist in implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the new/changed processes.
Support Accounting Manager/Controller with special projects and workflow process change

Education Chartered Accountant or CIMA accounting qualification required/ or partly qualified (at the final stage) Technical Skills and Prior Experience Five years prior experience in the financial reporting is required. Experience working in a public accounting or auditing services company is preferred. Understanding of SOX internal controls is required. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting. Experience with SAP ERP and Business Warehouse is a must. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel. Touch typing skills are welcomed. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
