The Company:
Our client is a major oil and gas company within Australia and is the largest producer of gas to the domestic market within the country. Active for more than 40 years, they have the largest exploration portfolio by area and are currently listed as one of Australia's Top 30 Companies.

The Role:
As the Accounts Clerk, you will report to the Senior Cost Engineer and ensure payment process is transparent and minimal late payment of Project Invoices.

Responsibilities:

Project Accounting Support:
• Review contractor’s invoices and maintain invoice payment / issue / resolution log
• Test contractor charges to confirm charges are appropriate, rates charged are correct, computing and other indirect charges are appropriate.
• Assist the Contract Administrator to ensure compliance with contract provisions for invoicing and other financial requirements as required.
• Obtain requisite authorization for payment of invoices from Project signatories in keeping with DOA
• Maintain Invoice Tracking Log, Invoice Registers, Analysis of Workload and Performance

Venture/PMT Liaison: Coordinate with the Company office in Brisbane/Adelaide for the following:
• Respond to audit information requests and exceptions
• Ensure costs recorded comply with Work Breakdown Structure and other reporting requirements.
• Key interface for processing and monitoring PMT travel expenses
• Key interface for project Internal DOA (Delegation of Authority)
• Key interface for project cost audits

Other Support: Manage other project support requirements, such as:
• Ensure processes are in place for obtaining local 3rd party goods and services not handled by the Contract Administration group.
• Ensure processes in place for processing and tracking payment for other non labour services (e.g. Expatriate accommodation leases and other Owner goods and services)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Professional Accounting Designation
• Minimum 5 - 10 years experience in the an Accounting Function within Oil Industry
• Significant experience on large multi-national and multi-location projects
