The Role:
Main Purpose of the Role
- Responsible for Ride Comfort and SBRN NVH attribute development to deliver project whole vehicle acoustic attribute performance (Chassis, suspension, wheels/tyres, brakes and their mountings).
-Provide NVH knowledge and direction in the design and development of component, system and whole vehicle acoustic specifications to ensure achievement of product acoustic targets.
- Provide objective measurement/analysis and subjective assessment of whole vehicle performance.
- Provide technical leadership in acoustic concern investigation and resolution.

Scope of the Role
- Generation and implementation of development plans to deliver PEP Gateway requirements.
- Definition of whole vehicle acoustic attribute performance targets derived from subjective assessment and objective measurement.
- Concept guidance at design & package reviews.
- Defining, planning, organising, monitoring and managing own work to meet project objectives for approval by Senior Engineer/Functional Manager.
- Leadership and management of acoustic testing (internal & external) to deliver project and technical development requirements.
- Measurement and analysis of noise and vibration data to identify root cause, countermeasures, design changes to provide robust engineering conclusions and recommendations.
- Definition of specification and design guidance to other Functional areas to enable the development of components and systems, to achieve the whole vehicle attribute performance targets.
- Measurement and analysis of noise and vibration performance at project gateways to compare status v’s targets and to facilitate whole vehicle acoustic attribute performance sign-off.
- Reporting of technical status and progress to relevant management levels and forums.
- Support other business areas.
- Accountable for timely delivery of all Whole Vehicle Acoustics (EWQ) Product Engineering activities required to achieve timely vehicle launch to quality and cost.
- Uses process of continuous improvement to develop new techniques and processes to improve team effectiveness.
- Support vehicle build requirements at relevant project phases to deliver component and system specifications and acoustic attribute performance.
- Supports overseas working requirements by agreement with local management.
- Application of continuous improvement to develop new techniques and processes to improve effectiveness.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification, in a relevant engineering or science discipline.

Experience
- Previous experience in noise vibration test, measurement and analysis techniques especially in driveline area.
- Graduates with a relevant final year project and work experience.
- German language ability would be advantageous to support test requirements at German proving grounds.
