The Company:
Our Client is a major operator in the Oil & Gas sector globally.

The Role:
To provide support to the business units to identify portfolio optimisation, rationalisation or expansion opportunities consistent with the business strategy and to assist the Portfolio Manager in implementing the agreed portfolio management programme. To provide analytical support and to assist with economic analyses and evaluations required in developing and implementing regional and/or country specific business strategies and plans.

Key responsibilities cover the following areas:

•To support Acquisition and Divestment (A&D) activities
•To review and evaluate portfolio rationalisation opportunities
•To conduct economic analysis of commercial opportunities and economic evaluation of assets
•To conduct economic and financial modelling
•To assist in drafting of Information Memoranda and negotiation of SPA’s as required
•To liaise with third parties and external advisers
•To support data management, data analysis and summarising/reporting of issues
•To monitor and report on activities

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

•To assist with business development and portfolio management strategic analyses and to contribute to the preparation of the Company’s strategic plan
•To conduct database searches and scouting activities for strategic and economic aspects of portfolio management as directed
•To assist in the provision of competitor and market intelligence on oil and gas transactions
•To conduct, present and propose portfolio evaluations to management
•To identify, assess feasibility/viability and recommend portfolio optimisation projects, new initiatives and/or investment opportunities
•To prepare financial analyses and models in accordance with Company guidelines and procedures
•To provide evaluations of assets for divestment and acquisitions ensuring consistency of internal value and market expectations
•To conduct due diligence investigations and data rooms for identified opportunities and to coordinate and collate data for Information Memoranda and data rooms and to ensure coherence, accuracy and consistency of data made available to third parties
•To support the preparation and drafting of detailed memoranda and presentations describing the key attributes of target assets and projects
•To project manage as required or to provide support in the execution and implementation of A&D transactions liaising with relevant business units and head office as required
•To evaluate and rank offers received for divestments and to present results and recommendations to management
•To assist with negotiation of Sale and/or Purchase Agreements as required
•To assist with the preparation of investment or divestment authorisations ensuring completeness of information and quality control
•To act as point of contact for relevant third parties ensuring regular dialogue is maintained such that transactions move forward to completion
•To draft external communications for major transactions as appropriate
•To build and maintain working relations with other economists/industry professionals both internally and externally
•To assist in maintaining appropriate records on business strategies and plans
•To prepare materials for internal and external presentations
•To ensure full adherence to the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and standards
•To fully comply with Company code of Ethics, the principles of the Organisational, Management and Control Model and the Fighting Corruption Initiative

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree in relevant subject either Engineering/Technical/Science
•Masters qualification in relevant discipline desirable
•Significant understanding of upstream industry (such as reservoir, petroleum engineering, project engineering) business development, economic evaluation, financial modelling and investment appraisal
•Experience working within the oil industry in either a technical or non-technical discipline demonstrating an exposure to operational activities and broad technical/cross discipline understanding of the industry (previous transaction experience required)
