The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role is based within the ADAS team in Electrical Engineering.

The ADAS Team develops and delivers driver assistance systems and features based on video, radar and ultrasonic technologies such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Automatic High Beam control, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Rear View, Junction View, Cross Traffic Alert, 360 degree Plan View, Lane Change Merge Aid, Park Assist.

This Component Owner position will be within a team coordinated by a Lead Engineer and will own the following engineering tasks and deliverables: -
* Definition and maintenance of the commodity development plans (WBS definition and planning) with the suppliers, system engineers and interfacing commodity project engineers
* Carry out component integration into the vehicle (Mechanical and Electrical integration)
* Lead component FMEAs and Quality reviews
* Support the supplier development and testing according to the company standards.
* Manage the introduction and release of parts in the system (Change/Cost management)
* Support the introduction of the component manufacturing procedures in the Manufacturing process
* Carry out system integration, system testing, and assessment of the performance and functionality vs specifications.
* Continuously improving the accuracy and coverage of the project management methods.
* Issue identification, investigation and escalation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Proven Skills and experience in engineering activities in the automotive sector (OEM or Tier1).
* Proven skills and experience in the integration of complex automotive components (mechanical and electrical integration)
* Knowledge of risk management and risk mitigation
* To be conversant with Project Management methods and familiar with tools such as Microsoft Project
* Understanding of Quality methods (6 Sigma), Failure Mode Avoidance and robustness.
* Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a 'passion for the product' are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
* Educated to degree level is preferred, although other relevant engineering/automotive qualifications considered.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge of processes and methods (e.g. PCDS, WERS, GRADE, AIMS, APQP)
* Ideally experienced in the development of ADAS systems
* PhD or equivalent
