The Company:
My Client is a major Oil & Gas contractor.

The Role:
Provide administrative and procurement support to the West Africa and Europe New Ventures Teams.
Reports directly to the Manager West Africa, and indirectly to the Manager Europe New Ventures.

•Safety and Environment - Role models compliance with HSE policy. Ensures that all activities are planned and conducted in compliance with HSE policy.

•Technical/Administrative -

•Organise internal and external meetings via e-mail, telephone and webex.

•Organise team away days

•Organising flights, accommodation and car rental for business trips

•Check and send out T/OCM minutes of meetings to partners, follow up on approvals

•Complete expense claims for managers

•Process purchase requisitions

•Goods and service receipting

•Time entry

•Maintain departmental calendar

•Organise meeting rooms and lunch bookings for departmental meetings

•Co-ordinate & distribute technical data internally and externally

•File department correspondence

•Printing, photocopying and binding for technical meetings

•Maintain stationery cupboard

•General typing

•Provide assistance in building Powerpoint presentations

•Vacation cover for senior assistant

•Continuous Improvement & Innovation – Manages work in line with Nexen project disciplines and takes every opportunity to consider alternative solutions in the light of lessons learned. Enforces the effective use of knowledge databases.

•Capability Development – Supports the personal development of the individuals and demonstrates and personal commitment to lifelong leaning

•People Processes – Delivers people processes in a commercial and positive way that demonstrates a commitment to the spirit of such processes. Encourages individuals to engage fully with related activities and delivers outputs in a timely fashion.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Previous experience in supporting a team in the oil and gas industry

•Familiarity with basic oil field terms

•A highly effective communicator in English. A second language, especially French, would be an asset.

•Confident telephone and meeting presence. Comfortable dealing with all levels of staff.

•Must be flexible and able to multi-task

•Must be enthusiastic and keen to learn new skills
