The Company:
Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
The administrative assistant provides general administrative support to the Project's Finance and Accounting team. This position has access to a broad range of confidential and time sensitive information, and as a result has the responsibility to use a high level of judgement, efficiency and discretion in the performance of assigned tasks and must be able to adapt and work within a challenging and constantly changing environment.

This role receives general direction from the Project Accounting Lead in the provision of direct support to the Project's Finance & Accounting, with a primary focus on commercial activities performed by Finance and Accounting team on behalf of Business Services – Supply Chain.

Primary responsibilities:
• Assist with planning, preparation and execution of processes and procedures.
• Assure confidentiality of commercial information is consistently maintained.
• Perform administrative duties such as word processing, filing, scanning and photocopying.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of electronic and hard copy data files associated with accounting and commercial activities.
• Maintain filing system and enter contract information into a database.
• Produce recurring reports based on contract information stored in the database.
• Provide periodic coverage for team members as required.
• Administer project documentation processes and ensure approved processes are followed.
• Take minutes of meetings.
• Perform other assignments as required.

Incumbent shall work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policies & Procedures and strive to eliminate any potential risk which could result in personal injury or occupational illness.
Incumbent shall be familiar with the Environmental Policy and Guiding Principles and applicable environmental Standard Operating Procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Graduate from a recognized office administration program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Proficiency in administrative services as an Administrative Assistant with 1 to 3 years of general experience in an office environment.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel.
• Must be able to act independently and take a proactive approach to tasks.
• Good communication, organization, interpersonal and team skills
• Ability to work in an integrated team.
• Proficient in maintaining well structured and accurate records.
