The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Import Operations Administrator The role is within the Customs Compliance area of the Tax Department at Whitley, reporting into the Import Operations Supervisor To provide support to the Import Operations team in the administration of customs clearances, issuing instructions to Port Agents, making tax decisions and reconciling customs documentation to provide all necessary audit requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A good standard of education

Have a proven analytical ability in relation ot both data and processes and will be able to develop solutions from their analysis; Be comfortable and accurate in inputting data to company systems and will be able to do so whilst responding to tight time-frames; Be highly skilled in the use of Excel and other MS applications for data analysis and problem resolutions etc; Have the versatility and personal skills required to work within a small team that has to respond to a multitude of priorities etc; Must have an in-depth knowledge of importing goods into the UK and the various customs regimes that may be applied

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Related international trade qualifications ie Membership of Institute of Export and International Trade or other similar standards
A wider knowledge of customs legislation and procedures would be a distinct advantage Driving Licence holder Willingness to travel to ports/airports/inland storage locations if required
Experience Required:
Previous experience gained over a period of at least 2 years within an import/export shipping department or external customs broker/agency
