The Company:
Our Client is an international energy company engaged in exploration and production; oil sands mining; and integrated gas.

The Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Advanced Geologist for our Houston location as part of our Eagle Ford shale resource play.

The successful candidate will be part of an exploration team responsible for performing regional studies and prospect generation within multiple plays across the South Texas. The exploration focus will include understanding the Eagle Ford System as well as other objective horizons such as the Austin Chalk, Buda, Sligo, Edwards, and other established play concepts.

The position will involve close teamwork with geoscientists and engineers within the development teams and Upstream Technology.


Responsibilities:

Develop play understanding thru detailed evaluation and integration of geological, geophysical, and commercial information to build a regional structural and play framework.
Generate, evaluate, and recommend new opportunities for acreage acquisition and exploration.
Support Development/Operational activities by sharing learnings gained from regional study
Support Business Development activities on an as-needed basis
Perform risk reduction through application of appropriate advanced geologic analyses (special petrophysical analysis, core description, rock mechanics, and geochemistry).
Generate probabilistic and deterministic resource estimates.
Actively monitor company operated, OBO, and industry active wells & provide Team & management with appropriate updates on regional well results.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree: Bachelors required, Masters preferred

Major Discipline: Geology

Experience Required: Minimum 10 years total industry experience. Experience with Eagle Ford operating company a must.

Travel Required: Up to 10%

Computer Proficiencies: Intermediate PC skills are required in Microsoft desktop suites. Experience with Risk Analysis tools and techniques, Geographix, GIS, Landmark, and onshore data bank software suites are preferred
