The Company:
Large international Exploration & Production company.

The Role:

The Appraisal Group works to provide geologic and reservoir models of discovered resources to lower the risk on producible hydrocarbons. The goal is to reduce risk with well and seismic data to the point where a viable project results. This position will work in an integrated team of reservoir engineers and geologists to assemble Petrel models of discovered resources and pre-drill prospects with the aim of reducing risk and handing over projects to NAPO for development.

The position will require an ability to carry out thorough prospect evaluations and risk mitigation through an analysis of all petroleum system elements. Applicants must be proficient in most Landmark and visualization applications. Additionally, the position will require interfacing with other team members and the Exploration Services and Reservoir Characterization Groups to ensure an integration of all data (AVO, depth imaging, regional and well data) is accomplished in completing evaluations. Responsibilities may further include operational duties associated with drilling and evaluation into the field appraisal phase. Applicants will be prepared to interface with multi-discipline and multi-cultural backgrounds.


• Carries out thorough prospect evaluations, integrating both geologic and geophysical data. This will entail risk mitigation considering all petroleum system elements.
• Develop 3D interpretation and mapping of salt and subsalt features, including salt tectonic reconstructions
• Provide interpretation for depth imaging projects. Participate in depth imaging modeling, processing, and velocity model building.
• Utilize 3D interpretation and visualization (VoxelGeo and Geoprobe) technology to aid in the formulation of interpretations.
• Work with Appraisal team to assemble geologic and reservoir models to characterize prospects and associated resources.
• Assist team in preparing and making presentations to management, partners and government representatives.
• Stay abreast of new technology and apply it appropriately in meeting the group's objectives.
• Works with other team members and multi-discipline groups to ensure that knowledge is shared and all elements of the petroleum system are appropriately considered and evaluated.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• Degree: Bachelors Required, Masters Preferred
• Major Discipline: Geology, Geophysics,
• Years Experience Required: A minimum 5 years and a current classification as Geophysicist/Geologist.
• Travel Required (%): 0 - 5%
