The Company:
Company in automotive sector - global leader in advanced steering and driveline systems.

The Role:
Based in Singapore or Malaysia, the candidate is expected to take business trips in Asia region at least 30 - 50% of the time

Position: ADVANCED QUALITY ENGINEER / SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER - ELECTRONICS
Department: GSM

1. Plan, implement and support manufacturing capability assessments of potential new global strategic sub-suppliers of electronic components. Engage regional resources as appropriate.
2. Work closely with ECM, Strategic buyers and other appropriate staff in the development of supply base and capacity planning concerning key component families.
3. Support the sourcing process through active participation in technical reviews, communication of requirements, and assessment of potential suppliers.
4. Perform technical review and audit of supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems, and monitor supplier improvements and corrective actions.
5. Implement and monitor the part qualification and certification process with global strategic sub-suppliers. Involve regional resources as appropriate.
6. Implement and support the change management process for electronic components.
7. Provide active participation and cooperation with engineering concerning product development strategies and implementation.
8. Provide support to local and regional plants as needed for planning, implementation, and issues concerning manufacturing, assembly and test of electronic components.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering.
Experience in EMS process – SMD, Wave and Selective Wave solder processes, conformal coating, In Circuit and Final electrical function testing, x-ray inspection and AOI, in-line programming etc.
Experience in Electronics and Electrical components manufacturing (PCBs, discrete silicon components, relays, Bulk Capacitors etc.)
Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities, and equipment.
Ability to investigate quality problems and apply sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions.
