The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer and is currently experiencing an upturn in production with demand increasing globally.

The Role:
An aerodynamics model-maker is required to support the aerodynamic development of new products and facelift actions on current products.

SCOPE OF JOB
1. To build and prepare accurate scale wind tunnel test models.
2. To construct accurate scale model components for wind tunnel testing.
3. To accurately prepare full-scale properties (clay models, aerobucks and prototype vehicles) for wind tunnel and track testing.
4. Responsible for accurate set-up of models in the wind tunnel.
5. To work with Design Studio personnel and engineers from Concepts and other engineering functions in acquiring data for definition of aerodynamics models.
6. To supervise detailed requirements of aerobuck builds.
7. To participate in wind tunnel tests, assisting aerodynamics engineers and conducting configuration changes.
8. Contribute to the development of the Aerodynamics team by helping to define processes and introduce appropriate technology.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Broad experience in model-making skills (including: woodworking, vac-forming, mould-making, casting, milling, turning etc.) and the ability to work with a variety of materials (wood, clay, foam, fibreglass etc).
2. Experienced in the manufacture of scale and full-size models for wind tunnel testing.
3. Experienced in wind tunnel test support (including conducting configuration changes in the wind tunnel).
4. Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy in preparation and setting up of wind tunnel test models.
5. Good understanding of the early phases of the vehicle development process.
6. Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of wind tunnel test schedules (some overseas testing may be required).
7. A methodical approach to model preparation and a commitment to detail.
8. A desire to achieve world-class competence in this discipline.
