The Role:
* Prepare documentation to assess the acoustic performance of powertrains and recommend design changes to achieve required status on all sub system components.
* Run reviews to resolve powertrain NVH issues.
* Mange job #1 concern resolutions as and when required by measuring, root causing and fixing issues.
* Prepare senior management presentations to demonstrate issue resolution.
* When required, implement new NVH methods and processes.
* Track powertrain and vehicle programs to ensure sign-off documentation is maintained at or driving towards acceptability.
* Measure, interpret and engineer within both vehicle and powertrain.
* Maintain links with the customer and supplier base to ensure delivery of effective, state of the art acoustic solutions.
* Maintain close links with all product development centres to ensure commonised global acoustic solutions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Development experience is desirable but it is equally as important that the applicant has a good engineering background and is able to apply themselves to problem solving within the NVH arena.
* Must be independent but able to work as part of a team, creative and flexible.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong project management skills.
* Good negotiation skills required.
* Ability to understand and root cause a variety of powertrain acoustic issues related to powertrain components.
* Strong drive for results and initiative.
* The position will require a flexible approach to working.
* Powertrain/vehicle instrumentation and testing activities.
* Data acquisition (LMS Test.Lab/HEAD Artemis).
* Data analysis, signal processing and reporting.
* Subjective assessments of vehicles and powertrains
* Degree in Acoustics, Automotive Engineering or similar required

* Torsional Vibration.
* Engine mount development and performance.
* Gearbox Noise & Vibration.
* Powertrain Bending, Moment of Inertia, FE/modal Correlation.
* Intake & Exhaust Noise.
* NVH assessment of subsystem components.
* Audio Feedback of Powertrain Noise, Noise Filtering and Level Appraisal.
* Development experience in NVH technologies.
* Experience with acoustics engineering would be an advantage.
