The Role:
Main Purpose of the Role

Responsible for the ownership and driving to resolution of complex system analysis using tools and properties available.

Scope of the Role

- Required to plan, control and prioritise Analysis Engineer workload where necessary depending on project and business needs.
- Ensure that problem resolution process is maintained to recognised Group standard and that issues are closed within agreed timescales.
- Lead the planning and facilitation of the processes and updates, including involvement in the project initial stages to assist in visual processes ensuring that all necessary learning has been captured.
- Control of analysis workload with the Senior Metrology Engineer to determine priorities and manage available resources to deliver complex root cause analysis.
- Control and drive problem resolution taking the lead role in complex system analysis internally and externally and reporting back to the appropriate forum.
- Manage and develop problem management processes and documentation to drive issues to closure using cross functional cooperation.
- Gain cross functional buy in prior to reporting out data at the applicable level.
- Provide expert coaching in problem resolution and assist customers accordingly.
- Provide support to the Project in advance of usual Metrology project involvement to drive correct drawing standards, tolerance definitions, surface evaluation and system locator strategies.
- Assist in development of PMP and FMK catalogues with body supplier and with measurement planning for all other suppliers.

Qualifications & Experience

- The completion of a recognised apprenticeship of BTEC ONC/HNC technical qualification.
- A degree in Engineering or similar.
- National Physical Laboratory (NPL) Training level 1 & 2 are desirable.
- Problem Resolution technical qualification (e.g. Six Sigma Green Belt) would be an advantage.
- Project Management qualification would be an advantage.
- A comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings including GD&T, Tolerance Chains and Locator Strategies and the use of metrology equipment.
- Must be a team player.
- Ability to prioritise and plan workload.
- Flexibility in working patters and the position may involve offsite/overseas/overtime/shift working in the future.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality tools.
- Use of control of databases (e.g. KPM, SPC, Access).
- Experience in the development and management of key project indicator targets.
- Comprehensive computer literacy – SPC Software, Microsoft Excel, Word etc.
