The Company:
Oil and Gas company with offices in Houston, TX

The Role:
The Company is seeking a hands-on senior analyst of corporate accounting that has a strong command of general ledger, consolidations, timely close and compiling financial. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, the successful candidate must be versatile and proactive with a solid work ethic and strong leadership.

While this position is primarily located in the downtown Houston Headquarters office, some travel to the regas facility in Quintana, Texas, and to the Project Management Team (PMT) office located in the Westchase area in West Houston may be periodically required.


-Assist with the management of all general ledger activity including intercompany, general accounting journal entries, payroll, account reconciliation, accruals, etc.
-Assist with the monthly close process ensuring it is completed timely and accurately
-Assist with the establishment, development, implementation, adherence and maintenance of internal controls to mitigate risks of material misstatements
-Uphold a close working relationship with the company's external audit firm. Assist with quarterly review and year-end audits, including preparing audit schedules and providing information at auditors request
-Interact with other members of the accounting group ensuring coordination and collaboration
-Participate and play a key role in the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
-Provide continuous improvement of the financial and accounting organization
-Participate on ad hoc projects as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum Experience Required:
5+ years of corporate accounting experience
Preferred: CPA a plus, but not required

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
-Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
-Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
-Knowledge of the energy industry, MLP and complex capital structures a plus
-Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
-Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
-Solid computer skills including proficiency in Word and Excel
-Experience with SAP preferred
