The Company:
A Global Oil & Gas operator with extensive operations in the Caspian Region.

The Role:
Our Client is currently seeking an Area Construction Manager to oversee part of a major cargo transportation route development. The scope of work will include the construction of a large accommodation camp, upgrade of existing roads and construction of new roads, to ultimately support transportation of large modules and other cargo from the Caspian Sea to the main construction site.

The position would be working on a 28/28 rotation.

The Area Construction Manager will:

• Ensure all systems are in place for successful execution of Roads/Camp scope through planning, monitoring and coordination with contractors.
• Manage the overall safety, field execution and subcontractors’
performance on all area construction activities.
• Manage the timely work scope definition, planning, estimating, efficient field execution and mechanical completion of constructed activities in proper sequence.
• Manage the coordination and seamless communication between the Construction Manager, EPCM Contractor, Construction Superintendents, construction contractors and vendors.
• Manage the development and implementation of the area construction execution plan.
• Endorse contractors' work plans, procedures, strategies.
• Ensure that an overall area construction work scope is clearly defined and finalized.
• Assess and adjust contractors’ construction planning, subcontract selection, construction logistics, quality control, schedule and progress measurement and other construction related issues; make recommendations to improve on safety, schedule, productivity and/or cost.
• Establish clear roles and responsibilities for the personnel assigned to the construction team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A technical degree (e.g. Engineering) is preferred but is not an absolute requirement depending on experience.
Minimum experience is 15 years working in the construction industry.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience with construction of civil infrastructure scopes of work in remote locations, specifically access/haulage roads and large accommodation camps.
