The Company:
Our Client, an Iron Ore Joint Venture, is a partnership between global business leaders; working with a major Iron Ore Operator on its multi-billion dollar growth plans in Western Australia.

The Role:
Our Client's Studies team is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for an immediate start. You will be responsible for coordinating a standard approach and the consistent delivery of engineering for studies. Key components of the role include monitoring, guiding and auditing the delivery of studies by area engineering managers

Skills & Experience:

To be considered for this position you must possess the following:

§ Minimum 15 + years experience Mining and Materials Handling engineering design experience.
§ Strong communication skills
§ Strong leadership skills
§ Ability to supervise a discipline team
§ Ability to form & foster collaborative relationships within the business and externally
§ Preferred experience with Iron Ore Materials Handling in the Pilbara
§ Extensive experience as a Lead Discipline Engineer
§ Prefer some site base experience, particularly in construction and shut down work
§ Engineering scheduling and performance management experience
§ Perform activities as directed by the general manager engineering services
§ Establish and maintain engineering standards and procedures for studies
§ Coordinate master planning activities
§ Establish value improvement in delivery of studies
§ Set up and maintain benchmarking database of effort hours, quantities, schedule and costs for facilities and components
§ Collate and present lessons learnt, engineering metrics and historical data
§ Specify and monitor implementation of standard facilities and components
§ Monitor engineering design compliance with safety in design and catastrophic risk management requirements
§ Monitor quality and consistency of engineering design for studies
§ Confirm development of an engineering plan for each study
§ Confirm implementation of programme engineering strategies across studies
§ Confirm preferred use of established strategic supplier and framework agreements
§ Monitor delivery of engineering to study Baseline

§ Execution planning, scheduling and forecasting
§ Assessment of project risks and understanding associated contingencies
§ Implementing change control, material quantity tracking and change management measures
§ Adherence to policies and procedures
§ Managing execution of multi-disciplined and dispersed engineering services
§ Firm team leadership and motivation
§ Effective communication with reports, peers, senior management and the Client
§ Strong writing skills
§ Forming and fostering of collaborative relationships and delivery of work
§ Effective delegation of tasks
§ Imparting skills and training others
§ Understanding HSE regulations and standards
§ Analytical and logical thinking
