The Role:
Assembly Engineering Planner

Our client is a leading automotive manufacturer with a reputation for quality. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects. An opportunity has arisen for a creative and individual thinker with a passion for leading assembly process design projects wanting to make a difference with the ability to inject new ideas and improved ways of working.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- To Lead Assembly Process design projects to ensure readiness for new model production
- Manage the timing of projects to ensure key milestones are achieved within the required timescale
- Identify and mitigate project risks
- Liaise with production department and group members to optimise product design in terms of design for assembly
- Work closely with the Business Units to ensure involvement in the design of assembly processes
- Work in conjunction with the Facilities and Maintenance department to design, procure and commission assembly facilities, jigs, fixtures and tooling

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Key Skills and Experience:

- Automotive products and process knowledge across all production areas
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good PC skills (Microsoft Office packages)
- ORACLE knowledge desirable
- Engineering Qualification desirable
- Six Sigma training desirable
