The Role:
Role Summary:

Support the Project Cost Manager in providing consistent cost control services across the entire Project and meeting reporting and other deadlines for cost control and other associated project deliverables.

Develop and maintain the existing Cost Engineering database and produce cost reports for the asset, developing interfaces with other business systems, reviewing and analysing costs as required, providing input to project cost processes.

Roll out and implement the Cost Engineering database on future Projects

Key Responsibilities:
This section must include any relevant Accountabilities.
a) Provide regular updated cost forecasts as the work progresses, recognising and incorporating the impact of opportunities and risks identified within the team.
b) Maintenance of the cost database, work breakdown and cost code structures.
c) Coach and provide support to Sector Cost Engineers.
d) Provide regular updated cash forecasts for Partners
e) Develop and update budgets for both annual and project workscopes. Prepare AFEs and other cost control documentation as required.
f) Provide input to project cost processes, including cost reports and strategic cost review meetings
g) Provide ongoing commitment and expenditure tracking and control, ensuring compliance with project WBS, budgets, and cost codes.
h) Provide regular and reliable assessments of the value of work done for contracts and activities within the cost engineers areas of responsibility, ensuring that all costs are supported by contractual terms and progress, and will stand up to audit.
i) Provide cost control support for the review and management of contract variations.
j) Provide cost data to support ad hoc Finance requests and economic analysis
k) Develop interfaces with existing business systems
l) Roll out cost database for future Projects

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Extensive project Cost Engineering experience essential
Preferably a graduate in a relevant discipline
Previous experience in the oil/gas industry an advantage
Detailed understanding of cost control processes and procedures
Analytical skills with a knowledge of cost, procurement and financial systems
Computer literate, with experience of using Kildrummy CostMANAGER
