The Role:
Job Title: Asset Engineer
Function: Engineering & Asset Management
Job: Family Managerial
Reports: To Chief Engineer

Overall Role Purpose
To drive continuous improvement from our assets over their whole life by implementing and assuring asset system strategies, standards and plans. This will be achieved by optimising cost, risk and performance over the whole life of our asset. Responsible for a number of engineering systems across the airport and for developing a working relationship with operational, maintenance, development, supply chain, finance and safety teams.

Primary Focus
Responsible for providing technical knowledge and support to operational teams within function and wider organisation to ensure a robust asset management strategy is in place.
Responsible for asset systems as follows (subject to change):
AE Mechanical: Airbridges, Lifts, Escalators, Passenger Conveyors, Lifting & Access Equipment
AE Water Systems: Water Systems (potable, fire, storm, grey, foul), Pollution Control Infrastructure, Legionella management plan
AE Building Systems: HVAC, Pre-Conditioned Air, HTHW, LTHW, Pressure Vessels, Fire Engineering
AE Electrical: Electrical Distribution, HV network, LV network, Lighting, UPS, FEGP, AGL system including AGL Control, Electrical Safety Rules
AE Civils & Structures: Airfield Pavements Runway & Civils, Building Structures and Fabric, Wayfinding, Civil Structures, Roads and Highways, Tunnels, Structural Inspection and Management Plan, Asbestos Management Plan
AE Electronics & Controls: Fire & Life Safety Systems, Building Management Systems, Access Control, CCTV, Communications, Security Screening, HBS, FIDs, Airfield systems, SEGS, SCADA, HEART, Remote Monitoring systems, Traffic Control

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience and expertise.
Incorporated Engineer in relevant discipline, or expected to achieve Incorporated status within 12 months of appointment. Relevant asset management qualification.
Good knowledge and strong experience of maintenance practices, methodologies and strategies.
Good knowledge of whole life cost principles and experience of their application. Good understanding of assets within specialist area.
