The Role:
To plan, execute and deliver safely, on schedule and within budget all engineering upgrades, modifications, repairs and replacement of oil and gas production and export facilities in order to sustain asset integrity and meet Company oil and gas production targets and export goals.

In addition the candidate will be the focal point the Asset organisation to access required engineering services including technical advice, studies, FEED, Detail design, civil construction, etc.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Coordinate all technical requirements to deliver upgrades, modifications and repairs on existing producing facilities in line with project objectives, with due attention to Project risks, opportunities and value drivers, within cost and schedule and to acceptable HSE and quality standards; whilst ensuring that projects are executed in line with Company business principles.
2. Manage development of project plans for facilities upgrades and modifications, secure funding and support for projects; secure approval of Investment Proposals and ensure activities are captured in Asset Short, Medium and Long term IAP.
3. Develop contracting strategy and tender documents for the entire scope, and manage contract delivery.
4. Responsible for Asset Technical and Environmental upgrade projects (including refurbishment of asset production facilities and flowlines) to achieve asset integrity and productivity, oil and gas production targets, and enhance Company reputation.
5. Manage the execution of routine repair work and minor modifications (subject to change control approval) on existing production assets including flowlines.
6. Determine and seek optimum resources for implementation of asset engineering work programmes to achieve business plan objectives.
7. Develop team members professionally and coordinate their activities to ensure effectiveness in delivery of projects (producing and export facilities).
8. Manage contractor HSE to ensure achievement of goal - zero fatality and zero spill from asset engineering activities.
9. Develop and pursue strategies for building capacity of local contractors in accordance with Local Content and Sustainable Development requirements.
10. Manage community assurance / liaison to foster lasting relationships with host communities.
11. Maintain good communications with the relevant Regulatory bodies and JV Partners and other Government authorities, and ensure that all required statutory permits and approvals are obtained on time.

This role requires frequent visiting to Basrah and includes safety Responsibilities:
Act as leader in the area of Health, Safety, Security and Environment through demonstration of own personal commitment to safe operations with particular focus on the security of the company staff.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Engineering Degree with minimum 15 years experience in engineering design and construction, and working knowledge of a broad range of Project engineering systems, tools and practices.
 Ability to manage interfaces with Production, Well engineering and Development as well as with government, regulators, and stakeholders is essential.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. HSE management of a large group of people and contractors in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
 Ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop the technical and management skills of team
Demonstrable hands-on experience of project delivery in a complex and challenging environment. A proven track record of having participated in a major international project in a significant role is an essential requirement.
Must be competent in Managing Front End Engineering Activities, Identifying and managing Project Risks, developing Project Execution Strategies and Managing Project Interfaces
