The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

Part time position which will lead to a full time role in April 2014

The Role:
The Asset Integrity Engineer is someone with a background in asset integrity assessment, inspection, and risk management, to provide services to our downstream (petrochemical and refining), upstream (exploration and production), pipeline, and gas facilities customers. The person in this role is part of the Mechanical, Materials and Integrity Delivery Group.

The vision and goals of the delivery group (and of the individual) are:
•To be a service provider of first choice with a clear added value for Inspection, NDE, and Asset Integrity Management services. These services can include: Risk-based Inspection implementation, support and strategy development, RBI methodology and tool development, pressure equipment integrity review, specific applied inspection technology know-how, inspection and repair methodology support, T/A challenge, support to risk-based decision-making, and asset assessment in a due diligence role.
•To work in global alignment with other regions, and disciplines, most especially the maintenance, consultancy, mechanical, and Materials and Corrosion disciplines.
•To work for the client operating companies, joint ventures and non-client customers as activity leader or via other activity leaders within MMI, or from operational excellence and/or project groups.
•To be part of a learning organization in which it is rewarding to work, and knowledge is shared effectively across the regions and disciplines
•To lead or participate in equipment related tasks concerning reliability, availability, operability, integrity, technology deployment, remaining life assessments, etc.

The accountabilities of the Asset Integrity and Inspection Engineer:
1) Risk and Reliability Analysis-includes integrity audits (FAIR's), corrosion reviews and risk based inspection of upstream, downstream and gas assets. The candidate must be familiar with risk analysis, root cause methodology, and audit processes, and should have the competencies to peer review or lead multi-module audits, such as FAIR's.
2) Inspection & Repair consultation on various inspection methods, technology gate keeping and analysis and interpretation of inspection results.
3) Consultation on various repair methods, welding, and remediation.
4) Project Support- provide technical support for capital projects which will include damage mechanism analysis, materials selection and specification, non-destructive evaluation, and the set up of inspection strategy.
5) Support and challenge to asset turnaround plans to assess proper risk of equipment outage and develop a FFP inspection plan as a result,
6) develop improved methodologies for risk-based inspection of assets, and associated tools to support,
7) Develop and own best practices and engineering standards and assist site implementation globally,
8) Non-destructive or on-stream inspection methodology, accuracy, application and interpretation.
9) Establish competency requirements / profiles for both the team and site technical support personnel. Provide training to support the competency requirements.
10) Compliance with corporate and P&T standards and work processes.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•University Degree (BS, MS, PhD) in Mechanical, Materials Science, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent, preferably with specialization in inspection, or fitness for service.
•15+ years experience in inspection, corrosion, metallurgy, welding, and related activities in oil and gas production, transportation or processing systems and equipment.
•Candidate must be able to work with minimum supervision and be self-guided and self-motivated. Close interactions with our client, JV and 3 P customers will be required. Emphasis is placed on teamwork as well as individual contribution and delivery of value to customers.
•Candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the team's performance regarding business targets (revenue and profitability), and quality of rendered services.
