The Role:
** This is a 2 month contract position **

To support the Project Design Team in the delivery of numerous major projects by undertaking a range of architectural duties including preparation of surveys, plans, specification and drawings and to ensure the effective and timely delivery of best value services that comply with all statutory building and design requirements and client policy.

1. Assist the team and work individually in implementing the work programme by working on specific and more challenging architectural projects as directed to comply with the project brief, budget and time frame.
2. Work with the team in determining the client and budget holders' requirements. Ensuring expectations are managed and met throughout their participation in the design process.
3. Undertake site appraisals and record site conditions, issues, constraints and opportunities
4. Provide professional design solutions to achieve objectives at the various RIBA Workstages (0-7) from feasibility, to planning, building control and construction drawings/specifications and reports for a variety of building types, sizes and complexities
5. Undertake organisation, preparation and implementation of all necessary drawings and correspondence connected with allocated projects.
6. Work with the team and individually to ensure that allocated projects comply with current legislation, and statutory requirements and that all necessary approval and consents are sought i.e. planning, building regulations, CDM (including risk assessments), Health and Safety regulations etc.
7. Represent the Project Design Team as requested at public meetings, client meetings and meetings with Elected Members and ensure that good professional relationships are maintained. Assist in marketing of the services.

This role will directly support the Architectural Team by producing high quality Autocad/REVIT drawings as required for our construction projects. These will include detail drawings for planning and contractors and will need to ensure drawing standards are adhered to at all times.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Part 2 Architectural Assistant or a trained Architectural Technologist
Knowledge of legislation including CDM regulations, DDA and Asbestos regulations

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Prince 2 practitioner
