The Role:
Job Function

1. Overall responsibility for ensuring product quality, initiate quality improvement, manages the quality system, handling customer complaint to meet company goals.

2. Directs the work objectives for subordinates. Management over activities of the lab.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage and ensuring the production recipe following the Production Requirement or Technical Specification (TS) and get approval from Manager (Operation) and Technical Advisor.

2. Involve in the production recipe improvement and any modification by discussing with Manager (Operation) and Technical Advisor following Production Requirement or Technical Specification (TS) as well as customer requirement from time to time.

3. Manage the quality system of product to make sure within specification given by customer and update all the quality management system in timely manner.

4. Propose product specification and quality standard for Product to meet customer requirement and revise them accordingly.

5. Manage all the inspection operation including planning, organize and assign jobs to QA/QC Engineer/Chemist for all inspection for technical laboratory and any test conducted.

6. Managing the quality for product and raw material via Certificate of Analysis (COA) verification.

7. Manage to maintain all inspection equipment in the laboratory including the calibration and make sure preventive maintenance carried out as plan.

8. Provide solution to the problem of the inspection or equipment failures for repair or procure new equipment as instructed by top management.

9. Manage customer complaint including finding the root cause, action taken and communicate with customer.

10. Support Sales and Technical Service on customer service for resolving customer complaint and claim related to product.

11. Manage and support QA/QC engineer and executive to liaison with executive (production planning) and sales department to ensure the product is inspected on time before product shipment.

12. Prepare technical issue for operation meeting and conduct performance review monthly, quarterly or annually as per required for fair assessment.

13. Manage the control of raw material specification, finish product control limit, quantity of grade change table by using a distribution list in the technical standard file.

14. Support Assistance Manager (Production) or Manager (Production) duties during his absence.

15. Ensure all inventories of schedule waste for laboratory are updated and maintained.

16. Approve safe work permit when required and ensure OH & S of QA staff or lab employee & work environment.

17. Manage all scheduled wastes are properly stored, label and dispose accordingly which related to laboratory.

18. Always enforce company policy consistently among all QA and inspection personnel.

19. Maintain well housekeeping standard in related work area for QA, inspection and laboratory.

20. Perform management instructions as and when required and others duties as assigned.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Degree in Chemical or other Engineering discipline with at least 5 to 8 year experience in Petrochemical or Chemical plant.

2. Diploma in Engineering disciplines with minimum 8 to 10 year experience in Petrochemical or Chemical Plant.

3. Possess good human relation, interpersonal, communication skill and ability to work under stress condition and long hour’s works.

4. Experience in managing and handling people, management role or works for at least 4 years.
