The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks an Assistant Project Manager to join their team.

The Role:
• The position will support the Project Manager and Project Team with the following activities: project scheduling, cost control, risk management (cataloging, classifying and developing mitigation), project reporting, project team coordination (facilitate/record meetings, follow-up on deliverables from team members, etc.) and contractor management/interface.

Project execution experience/knowledge/understanding is required within the areas of
• Knowledge and skills in using Microsoft Office Suite applications are required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).
• Understanding of SharePoint or similar (web based file sharing application) is important as project documents will be stored and manipulated from a SharePoint platform.
• Candidate will be required to become conversant in the Project Development and Execution Process nomenclature, processes and tools.
• The Project Team will be following and reporting through these processes.

Additional Information:
• Position will be located in COMPANY Mining's Englewood, CO office with frequent travel to the Mine project site in New Mexico.
• The position is needed through the end of Phase 4 commissioning, currently estimated to be Q4 2014.
• The Tailing Project is a $126MM capital project that has just entered Phase 3.
• Detailed engineering is commencing with a local EPCM contractor that has just been selected.
• Two related water management projects, water treatment and stormwater management, are in mid-Phase 2 and being managed by another Project Manager.
• These projects are $65MM and $44MM and will likely be brought under the Tailing Project Team management when they reach Phase 3 in Q4 2012.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in project management, construction management or engineering; or equivalent in experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the project management arena.
• 10 years or more experience is preferred.
• Experience should be with the execution of capital construction type projects (as opposed to IT structures).
• Experience within the mining industry and/or a technical/engineering background are desirable, but not mandatory.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
PMI preferred, but not mandatory.
