The Role:
Assistant Quantity Surveyor PROTECT COMMERCIAL

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be required to support in the management and administration of both the pre and post contract commercial function delivering varying capital and maintenance projects from inception to handover. You will be expected to support the Project Quantity Surveyor in his role and as such will be responsible for a variety of task which may include, but not be limited to, administration of payment and change management functions, input into project reporting and performance monitoring.
Essential Requirements:
Experience in supporting the commercial function across multiple projects of varying values and complexities under differing contractual arrangements and forms.
Demonstrate Ability and Experience of:
Experience of reimbursable and target type contracts (NEC)
Support the commercial administration and management of contracts
Technical Expertise
Develops their own commercial, construction and engineering knowledge to support the commercial administration of the contracts and offers solutions and improvements to procedures and
Excellent report writing skills
Assist with the preparation of standard documentation – reports, valuations, letters, financial statements etc.
Ability to prioritise and able to work under pressure
Manages workload to ensure that work objectives are achieved in a timely manner
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues
Where required work and behave in a manner to promote effective working relationships
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Clearly expresses relevant information and conveys it to appropriate people
Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work
If required demonstrates a willingness to undertake flexible working patterns
Technically and commercially aware and able to support the delivery on pre and post contract service requirements
Identifies potential contractual risks and takes action to minimise the risk
Effective time management – efficient and adding value to projects
Monitors progress towards objectives, highlighting issues that may affect their delivery timeline
Comply with all legislative, regulatory and company standards and procedures
Understands and works within recognised governance
Computer literate
Demonstrates skills commensurate with the position and aligned with recognised assessment criteria for computer programmes e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Project etc.
