The Company:
Our client is a global leader in the design and delivery of infrastructure, power and major engineering projects around the world. Their clients come to them for a wide range of advice, resources and skills - in engineering, maintaining infrastructure, managing construction, planning and strategic thinking.

The Role:
Our client has a growing portfolio of commissions providing commercial management, quantity surveying, planning, and risk management support to internal and external clients within the Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and Complex Manufacturing sectors. An Associate Director is sought to take over the day to day management of part of this portfolio and to work with the Commercial Director & Operational Director to maximise the return from the current opportunities and to identify, secure, and deliver further opportunities in this sector. Experience of the Infrastructure / Transport sector also would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

Management of client interface on current portfolio
Management of resources to deliver commissions/secondments
Full responsibility of performance and compliance of commissions within the portfolio to clients, and to MPCS including financial reporting and forecasting
Interfacing with other disciplines and management streams within client to maximise utilisation of resources and expertise availability
Training and development of assigned staff
Liaison with existing clients to identify further opportunities by direct engagement,
Identification of new opportunities and preparation of bid documentation for standalone and submissions in association with other business streams
Input to the strategic development of the portfolio.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 18 years industry experience as a Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor/Cost Engineer with most recent experience in the Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and / or Manufacturing sectors.
Some experience in Infrastructure / Transport sector, possibly on framework style contracts would be an advantage.
Proven abilities in client management and delivery in a competitive environment.
Relevant Degree and/ or Membership of a relevant professional body (ICES/RICS/ACostE/CIOB)
Experienced in the use of major standard forms of Contract including NEC, FIDIC and framework contracts
Commercial awareness
Good MS Office Skills
Clean Driving Licence
Excellent communication skills
Ability to provide leadership when required and work in a team environment
Prepared to travel
