The Company:
Our major Oil & Gas Client is in need of an Associate Geomechanics Specialist in Houston, Texas.

The Role:
Job Purpose:
Provide geomechanics support to UAO assets under supervision of geomechanics staff in ULET.

Job Dimensions:
1). Be committed to HSSE; 2). Support geomechanics test programs and data analysis for UAO assets under supervision of experienced geomechanics specialists in ULET; 3). Identify plug locations and design geomechanics test programs based on both wellbore and core logs, CT-Scan images, lithofacies analysis and actual core slabs; 4). Coordinate with vendors (TerraTek, Weatherford, Corelab, etc.) to carry out geomechanics test programs; 5). Analyze geomechanics test data, and use the data and well log and lithofacies data to compute Litho-ID and other index parameters that quantify the heterogeneous nature of gas shale and other tight formations by following the established workflow LAB-G; and 6). Provide programming support to ULET geomechanics R&D projects for lamination index and frac energy index calculations based on well log data. 7). Data management for all of geomechanical core/modeling data.

Key Challenges:
Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and with a wide variety of disciplines as well as third party vendors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

M.S. in geology, geophysics, geomechanics, and computer sciences or related subjects.
Experience in geomechanics, log and data analysis.
Knowledge in computer programming and numerical modeling.
Ability to communicate effectively with managers, staffs, and third party technology providers.
Commitment to HSSE.
