The Company:
Is a major oil and gas company.

The Role:
To provide effective HSE coordination and representation of company activities on Exploration and Development Drilling campaigns, ensuring HSE risks are managed according to the client's Petroleum HSE Management System. This is a 14/14 rotational role. This is a long term contract role

• Provide specialist HSE advice and assistance to the client's drilling superintendent and supervisor and rig supervisors.
• Liaise with the Drilling HSE team leader, Asset HSE staff to ensure effective use of best practice and consistency in approach to HSE activities.
• Promote a risk-based approach to HSE management within the Drilling Campaigns.
• Participate in and facilitate audits and reviews of both WWD and Rig Contractor HSE management systems and ensure implemented and fit for purpose.
• Support the implementation and achievement of campaign HSE objectives and performance measures during Drilling Campaigns.
• Lead initiatives to promote visible and pro-active management commitment and employee involvement in HSE activities.
• Review existing training plans and specific campaign training needs, provide training, as appropriate and/or facilitate visiting specialist trainers.
• Ensure there is an effective system for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking and reporting HSE performance data (e.g. Incident report findings, Audit actions, Fpe proficient)
• Complete monthly HSE report for area of responsibility and monthly Safety meetings and statistics.
• Participate in risk management and HSE activities including risk assessments, audits, HSE Meetings, and forums including on-site activities.
• Plan and participate in HSE audits of Contractors.

AUTHORITY & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS • HSE Manager • Drilling Manager • Drilling Supervisors • Operation Superindentant • HSE Supervisor Drilling and Completion • Operations Techs • Embedded Safety Professionals The Field HSE Specialist will work at the operating site. It will be a 14/14 rotation. It will be a contingent labor position reporting to the HSE Supervisor Drilling and Completions. This is a long term assignment. The role will provide support to the sites formally through the HSE team and informally to any personnel on the facility. The role will be supported by the local HSE team. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS • Engineering or Science Degree, or HSE certification • Audit certification • Risk management courses. • HSE management courses Experience & Technical Competencies (combination of) • Minimum 5 years plus HSE experience in oil and gas • Speciality ( Earthmoving, Drilling or Production) • Understanding of site based HSE • Experience in HSE reporting systems • HSE Regulations Understanding • Risk management and risk assessment skills. • Technical proficiency and knowledge of Safety Case process and requirements • Technical Proficiency in and knowledge of Drilling and Completion Procedures • Technical Proficiency in Documentation requirements. • Technical Proficiency in Auditing • Technical Proficiency in Incident Investigation • Technical Proficiency in Emergency Response • Must have valid State issued drivers license and be able to travel, including overnight travel, work evenings and weekends as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Good leadership ability.
• Familiarity with drilling business.
• Comprehensive understanding of HSE issues in Drilling.
• Risk management and risk assessment skills.
• Technical proficiency and knowledge of Safety Case process and requirements.
