The Role:
Job Duties:
Under general oversight of a project engineer, performs a variety of basic engineering duties: selecting and applying accepted and standard engineering practices associated with the concept, design, materials, research, maintenance and construction of engineering projects. Work may include but is not limited to the following:
Applies engineering principles and practices to all phases of project including conceptual, design, construction or maintenance of Company facilities.
Associate Project Engineer will work with the oversight of a Project Engineer to develop project reports, conceptual studies, plans, specifications and engineer’s estimates. Duties may include assisting with: defining scope of work for engineering consultant, development of requests for proposals for engineering, evaluation of proposals, negotiations, work order development, oversight of engineering contractors work , to include review of alternatives analysis, checking design computations prepared by others, performing calculations related to noncomplex project elements, plans, specifications, and engineers estimate. The Associate's duties also include assisting with: developing Company content for the project package, coordination of in-house resources for the development of these items. The Associate may also be tasked with assisting with coordination of required reviews. This includes but is not limited to client reviews, constructability reviews, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews, Risk assessments, environmental reviews, Fire Safety Industrial Hygiene (FSIH) reviews, peer reviews, SME (Subject Matter Expert) reviews. Other duties include responding to Information and Change Requests (ICR) and project close out. The Associate may assist project engineer with: project meetings, project schedules and budgets. The associate will also travel to the field to assist the Project Engineer with project oversight during all phases of the project.
May be assigned as field project engineer on minor projects to review contractors work on-site for compliance with plans and specifications; reviews contractor documents; reports problems affecting project to Project Engineer. Performs construction inspection and reviews the quality and quantity of materials and the methods of placement and removal of materials in accordance with plans and specifications. Assists with project close-out work,

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering from an institution accredited by ABET.
A bachelor's degree with a major in engineering an institution not accredited by ABET.
An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate issued by a state or the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and
Surveyors; or verification of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
Working knowledge of the practical application of professional engineering principles, standard construction methods and
• Working knowledge of current engineering principles and practices applied in the conceptual, design, construction and
operations of Company related engineering projects.
• Working knowledge of principles and practices applied in the inspection and testing of construction materials.
• Some knowledge of engineering computer applications.
• Ability to apply engineering principles and techniques.
