The Company:
Major Oil & Gas Client in Houston, Texas

The Role:
• Provide Process Automation and Control Discipline Engineering support to multiple projects developed and executed by the SIEP – US Onshore Projects team in Houston (primarily in Eagle Ford).
• Key aspects include delivery of safe, reliable, fit for purpose, innovative and cost effective designs through oversight of design activities and deliverable development.
• Position covers a wide breadth of C&A technologies and equipment (SCADA, radio/wireless, instrumentation, PLC, DCS, SIS, DACA, etc.) due to varied project scopes.
• Provide technical assurance of Process Automation and Control related designs through appropriate application of Shell technical standards and specifications, implementation of DCAF and review of critical EPC design deliverables and activities.
• Provide guidance and assistance to EPC discipline engineers in resolution of technical issues, including provision of Shell Operations and Maintenance and Integrity experience and constraints.
• Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions, while maintaining primary responsibility to assure safe and appropriate quality designs.
• Ensure Process Automation and Control related activities are executed in alignment with Shell’s Project Delivery Roadmap, Opportunity Realization Process and HSSE Standards.
• Develop strategies/conceptual designs during early project phases.
• Audit construction field activities for compliance and assist in resolution of field non-conformance issues and assist in FAT, SAT and commissioning activities, as required.
• Design and develop, as required, innovative technical approaches to Process Automation and Control issues and contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives (fit for purpose).
• Ensure Lessons Learned, HFE issues, Flawless principles, quality assurance and constructability are considered during all aspects of Process Automation and Control design and specification development.
• Providing cost competitive designs while maintaining technical assurance and ALARP safe facilities.
• Working effectively with multiple stakeholders including Project team members, OR&A, Operations, Asset Integrity C&A, EPC’s, development engineers and external parties.
• Manage a number of simultaneous projects being engineered by different design teams at multiple locations.
• Working in an inter-discipline environment with other engineers located remotely.
• BS Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Automation & Controls (desirable).
• 10+ years experience in the Process Automation and Control discipline.
• Project development and execution experience beneficial.
• Familiarity with E&P type facilities beneficial.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience in the Process Automation and Control discipline.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Project development and execution experience beneficial.
