The Company:
Our client is an independent oil and gas operator.

The Role:
Provide automation engineering support to the Company production facility on the north slope of Alaska. This is field-based position working 12-hours a day, 7-day a week, two-weeks on, two-weeks off with an alternate covering the position while on R&R. Travel between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay and room and board on site is company provided. Southcentral Alaska candidate preferred but not required. Travel to Anchorage airport employee covered.
Ensure all drill site and production facility automation and instrumentation infrastructure operates accurately and reliably. Assist field operations personnel with system troubleshooting and optimization. Recommend and implement appropriate corrective action, including economic justification. Provide technical oversight for automation purchases ensuring codes and standards are met. Ensure PSM compliance including updating facility automation documentation (safety matrices, loop drawings, etc.) and participating in process hazard analyses and pre-startup safety reviews. Ensure all facility modifications comply with management of change process. Assist with facilities conceptual design for future exploration developments working with engineering department.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other appropriate engineering field is required with a minimum of 8-years relevant experience. Proficiency with Siemens PCS7 (import/export assistant, creating models and process tag types, experience with version 7.1), Profibus DP and PA networking and troubleshooting, and Modbus communication protocols a must. Upstream oil & gas experience, power generation or other uptime critical industry experience preferred. Self-starter with troubleshooting skills and service-oriented personality is critical.
