The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Aviation Project Engineer to join this market leader, working in their Sydney - Airport based project office. This exciting new opportunity will see you coordinate and manage multiple projects and initiatives from scoping through to commissioning. You will have a large amount of autonomy in this role and will be the single point accountability for delivering multi-disciplined projects ranging in complexity and value. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be required to interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders/authorities, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

The successful applicant will tasked with providing detailed technical support across the Aviation business and providing facility engineering/maintenance support for the tank farm and hydrant operations. You must be familiar with Aviation fuel facility design, equipment standards and aviation quality control and operations. To be considered for this position you must have experience working in hydrocarbon facility engineering and safety standards, along with demonstrable experience of Permit to Work systems.

Main Responsibilities Include:
• Cost effective, timely, safe and professional delivery of projects fror Aviation as required.
• Contribute to the provision of engineering technical, maintenance and operations advice to Aviation.
• Coordinate and lead multiple resources for the execution of larger projects
• Work safely and comply with HSSE policies and standards.
• Determine project management and procurement strategy for specific projects
• Determine corrective action for project deviations.
• Frontline technical support to Operational airport facilities
• Frontline business support with Sales and Operations, customers, Airport Authorities
• Significant external stakeholder management (Airport Authorities, 3rd party contractors, JV partners, etc)
• Manage projects on operational airports NUOC by SCOA with significant interfaces with Airport Authorities/Operations and 3rd party contractors
• Manage projects in remote and logistically challenging locations with limited contractor resources

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary Engineering Qualification, preferably a Degree from a recognised tertiary education institution
• Demonstrable knowledge of storage terminal facilities or Aviation industry equivalent, is essential.
• Specialist technical knowledge in at least one, but preferably 2, areas of direct application in Terminal or Aviation Engineering (for example, aviation hydrant systems, aircraft fuelling system design, airport design, fire protection systems, storage tank major maintenance, tank/pipeline design/construction/maintenance, E&I, other related industry facility design, etc)
HSSE management skills and strong safety awareness (including Permit to Work System experience at minimum PI level

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Relationship management skills for interpersonal and negotiation relationships with internal and external clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and statutory authorities.-
• Ability to proficiently utilise project support systems (SAP, MS Project, MS applications, etc)
• PC skills (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• SAP Project and Purchasing skills.
• Application of Aviation Engineering and Operations standards (EI, JIG), Aviation Maintenance standards, Aviation Quality Assurance–Knowledge
• Negotiating skills.
• Self management/remote working
