The Role:
To be responsible for, and act as Area Authority for the coordination and control of the Afungi Base operations, reporting to the Northern Operations Manager. Operations will include Camp Services and Construction Activities in the Afungi area.

Operational Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Provide Overall Leadership and ensure Co-ordination between all parties involved in Camp Operations.
• Manage project staff and contractors as appropriate.
• Manage Catering Contractor(s), Contractor Camp Boss(s), and onsite Medic(s).
• Oversee Waste Management Activities and ensure all waste is properly disposed of in accordance with Company and legal guidelines.
•Liaise with other departments to ensure project and overall company goals are achieved.
•Job Briefing for all jobs, including Pre Job briefing for new contractors and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews for existing contractor tasks.
•Review activity schedules and Supply Chain time lines to ensure delivery objectives are achievable and met.
•Ensure proper maintenance of company assets and report usage on weekly basis.
•Ensure critical equipment spares (power generator and water distribution system) are available and in working order; provide weekly stock report.
•Provide North Operations manager feed-back on annual performance Targets and evaluating year-end results.
•Review designs and SOWs to ensure these are adapted to local operating conditions, available resources and environment.
•Know the Management System and how it applies to Operations.
•Ensure that KPI's are being measured.
•Implement measures to address trends indicated by KPI's.
•Anticipate and be trained in the company Incident Command System.
•Tasks as assigned by North Operations Manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Prefer University Degree with an engineering or other technical Major.
•10+ years of direct work experience in Civil Construction, Projects or International Operations of which at least 3 must be in a practical hands on role.
•Must have worked in a Multi-Project, Multi Contractor Environment.
•Must be technically minded with understanding of basic technical principles.
•Must have Experience in People management
•Must have Experience in Contractor Management
•Good to excellent skills in Basic Microsoft Office programs (Work, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
•Must have Experience in Managing Multi-Cultural work teams including Expatriates.
