The Company:
Our client (big oil & gas company) is looking for BD Manager

The Role:
• The individual typically would have significant sales or related experience and would have demonstrated sales success and technical proficiency;
• Area Sales Manager may have account responsibility plus supervisory responsibility for sales direct reports;
• These positions concentrate on International Strategic and Regional Strategic customers where experience and stability is required (i.e., where Client needs to improve business position or launch entry into a new market);
• Develops new opportunities including component sales;
• Displays excellent judgement in knowing the type and how much technical and other services each customer requires and how to provide it;
• Has developed high level contacts within the industry and a well-developed network of information sources;
• May be involved in the planning and editing of sales literature;
• Demonstrates good analytical skills; provides insightful observations, conclusions and recommendations;
• Could be assigned as regional sales coordinator for global account Global Strategic or Global Alliance Customer;

Requirements:
• Excellent knowledge of product line;
• Has completed some advanced training courses;
• Sought out by customers for technical service advice and general additives business knowledge;
• A resource to other Technical Sales Reps;
• Excellent knowledge of the sales process;
• Extracts value at the highest level;
• Demonstrates excellent negotiations skills; ability to “get the sale”;
• Superior knowledge of supply chain;
• Excellent knowledge of industry competitors;
• Generates or secures most of input to manage or increase productivity of the sales process;
• Maintains data on competitors’ activities including pricing, market share, strategies, etc.;
• Detailed knowledge of financial principles;
• Uses rate of return, cash flow analysis, cost to serve, etc.;
• Understands service package costing and delivery;
• Analyzes customer profitability;
• Has prepared long and short-range plans and forecasts that are realistic and have led to achieving goals;
• Developing understanding of the impact of the plans;
• Develops customer strategies that maximize customer profitability and meet Client’s strategic imperatives;
• Has gone through several business plan cycles;
• Ensures alignment of sales plan with overall Client business plan.;
• Handles complex problem solving activities involving customer, other areas and other Client groups;
• Teaches problem solving tools by example;
• Provides innovative guidance to customers for creative approaches to solving problems and gaining new business profitably;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
