The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
This position will be located at site near Fort McMurray with a rotation of 14days on / 7 days off.

This position reports to the Site Safety, Security, Health & Environment Director to Coordinate/Implement/Collect/Analyze/Report BBS related information on behalf of the projects. Uses independent judgment in application of SSHE/BBS procedures. Acts a liaison between the Prime Contractor and Subcontractors and the Construction Management Team (CMT) on all Behaviour Based Safety related matters.

1. Acts as single point of contact for BBS related activities on the Projects.
2. Subject matter expert on BBS; interface with client for sharing of learnings and best practices.
3. Develop BBS related records, reports, and documents to meet department and company expectations.
4. Participates cooperatively with Prime Contractor’s to understand, mentor and share BBS best practices and theory.
5. Identify trends learned from the BBS program and share these trends with, Senior Management, Area Managers, Prime Contractor management and the Craft.
6. Actively engaged in the contractor and subcontractor to participate in BBS programs
7. Works as a single point of contact for BBS programs – including distribution of related information
8. Communicates and supports BBS education and training programs – Approaching Others, Near Miss, Observations, Job Safety Analysis, etc.
9. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in the BBS program. Work to ensure BBS performance is best in class.
10. Develop the management team using transformational leadership techniques, practices and behaviors and those models for development of our key leaders.
11. Monitor the culture/perceptions of the site by developing a means to test and measure the safety culture of the site/organization.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
10-15 years of experience as a Safety Advisor with excellent interpersonal skills.
