The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
The Bid Manager role has the responsibility for the production of quality proposals, technically and commercially compliant, whilst working to tight deadlines

Bid manager duties include -

• Participate in pre bid strategic pursuits with Account Manager and capture team
• Manage the bid qualification process
• Manage virtual bid teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, engineering, product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery. (UK and Global)
• Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues.
• Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process.
• Monitor the bid budget. (validate engineering hours booked to the proposal)
• Facilitate third party supplier quotations through the supply chain team.
• Validate material, engineering and project management internal estimates
• Prepare and review the commercial aspects of the bid, with support from the legal team, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer.
• Contribute to the written proposal - both in terms of content and presentation
• Ensure timely delivery of technically compliant and commercially sound composite bids. (MAC/MIV/MEV/EICT)
• Maintain and document all communications, both customer and supplier related, using the company internal processes
• Participate in post bid reviews & negotiations with customers
• Prepare bid handover documentation and participate in sales-projects handover meetings

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• HNC Qualified
• Knowledge of process control systems
• Previous background in bid and proposals as Bid Manager
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry as Bid Manager
• Background in electrification and/or telecommunications
• Knowledge of industrial communication networks
