The Role:
Purpose
The primary objective of the BIM Manager is to champion the use of BIM technology tools, methods and practices across the Project to achieve predictable design outcomes. Further to enable down-stream application of VDC (virtual design and construction) tools in an Integrated Lean Project Delivery (ILPD) framework.
To be successful the BIM Manager will apply advanced expertise to leverage sophisticated discipline specific BIM authoring tools such as Autodesk Revit. The BIM Manager is responsible for developing and implementing BIM authoring standards including level of detail, multiple file format transitions, data-management (input and output) and the correct application of analytical and visualization tools as required by the Project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• As a BIM expert and leader, provide BIM Execution Planning at the onset of all projects
• Establish competent multi-disciplinary BIM teams comprised of BIM Coordinators and Modelers
• Establish BIM strategy, requirements and needs
• Establish BIM standards, procedures and execution plans
• Establish level of detail (LoD) criteria for models to include depth and complexity of content
• Lead and support all project BIM Coordinators and BIM Modelers and designers engaged in the Project.
• Plan, manage and maintain the 3D BIM data and content
• Rapidly develop a strong understanding of the design deliverable requirements
• Work closely with all disciplines and design management teams to establish cohesive BIM centric processes and workflows
• Facilitate and build consensus among the various team leaders and their staff to drive BIM adoption
• Develop a training program for design managers and engineers to improve the use of BIM authoring tools
• Pilot, recommend, select and develop an implementation strategy for BIM technologies and products
• Develop BIM champions in rapid design, analytical tools and content development areas
• Document processes, procedures, workflows in a concise, graphical and illustrative manner
• Lead and work with outside consultants and vendors on deliverables
• Embrace a holistic approach to modeling assets: creation, delivery then turn-over to the operators
• Work in alignment with all enterprise and Project stakeholders
• Assist in growing BIM Technology champions throughout the organisation
• Communicate and educate the organization internally at all levels
• Build rapport with Design Managers, Consultants, peers, direct and in-direct subordinates
• Audit, identify and resolve opportunities around BIM model management to optimize performance
• Better integrate various software tools and platforms by establishing workflows for file format exchanges
• Engage project teams to innovate and leverage advanced tools to solve project problems
• Optimise design and down-stream construction processes through the implementation of BIM and VDC concepts beyond 3D modeling and conflict resolution
• Act as a critical link between the internal PDP organisation and outside design consultants and or software vendors

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Must have relevant qualifications in Architecture, Civil and Structural Engineering, MEP Engineering or a relevant related field.
• Minimum 10 years of advanced and progressive BIM technologies hands-on experience in the Architectural, C&S or MEP business driving the adoption of design authoring and collaboration technology tools
• Must be trained and proficient in Autodesk Revit 2015 or later version as well as 2D CAD and other 3D visualization and simulation applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly matrix structured environment that requires full transparency, team collaboration, joint decision making and initiative
• Strong graphical, illustration and documentation skills at high value project level
• Ability to quickly learn new software tools and then teach others
• Change agent responsible for change management within a deep culture
• Must possess exceptional collaborative management skills toward effective partnership in a fast-paced project development
