The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
BIW Layout & Facilities Engineer. The role will be responsible for the development and implementation of feasible cost effective manufacturing Layouts and Facility / Material Handling installations for body installations currently taking place at the Halewood Plant. Keys responsibilities will be as follows:
1) Manage the design, development and implementation of Body Shop and Material Storage Layouts.
2) Preparation of Costs, Budgets and Timing Plans.
3) Co-ordinate the support of Plant Engineering functions with respect to the provision of, Lighting, Mech/Elec Services, Heating & Ventilation, Extraction, Amenities and Civil Works.
4) Provide Layout and Facility support for all Midland BIW model operations.
5) Management of Health & Safety including CDM control and implementation.
6) Ownership of LLDM tools & implementation.
7) Manage Facility Buy offs and hand over to customer department.
8) Manage the design, procurement and installation of miscellaneous non process aligned equipment and facilities.
9) Interface between process engineering / OEMs and PD.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. High level of PC skills including, as a minimum,
a. - MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
b. - ACAD & Factory CAD
c. - Creation, compilation and management of layout drawings.
2. Personal skills,
a. - Flexible, self motivated and confident team player.
b. - Able to communicate effectively to all levels of the business and with external partners.
c. - Ability to setup and run effective meetings & buy off events with cross functional team members.
3. Delivery skills,
a. - Able to generate effective solutions to technical challenges.
b. - Able to agree win-win solutions to project obstacles.
c. - Able to understand the needs, desires and aspirations of competing customers.
d. - Ability to work in a fast moving/changing environment.
e. - Flexible in working location.
f. - Safe working mindset.

An ideal candidate will have are:-
Substantive experience in a Facilities and Layout role, with :-
1) Proven layout and project management experience in Body Construction installation programs.
2) A sound engineering and manufacturing background.
3) A working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulation
4) An understanding of Material Handling systems.
Qualification - Minimum HNC/HND. A relevant engineering degree is not essential but would be an advantage, as would time served in a related engineering disciplines apprenticeship. NEEBOSH certificate is not essential but would be an advantage.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
Additional beneficial experience would be:
1. An understanding of Bodyshop processes and equipment.
2. A working knowledge of client processes and in house practices.
