The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Body Systems Durability CAE Engineer Development of Automotive Body Component Stiffness, Strength, and Fatigue performance for New Product using CAE to meet defined performance targets and support design confirmation, conduct test support and test-to-CAE correlation.
Leading small team, including planning and controlling delivery of their work.
Able to run baseline CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the Body CAE Project Leader in an efficient manner.
Able to work effectively with design teams to develop solutions within defined deadlines and time constraints.
Have an awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions.


Essential Experience & Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1) Ability to carry out automotive body component stiffness, strength, and fatigue performance development using CAE to meet defined performance targets and support design confirmation, conduct test support and test-to-CAE correlation.
2) Use of HyperWorks for Pre/Post-Processing. (or Ansa/Metapost as a suitable alternative) MSC Nastran ¿ SOL101, 103, and 200 Optistruct solver NCODE 10/11 for Stress life or strain life fatigue prediction. ABAQUS 6.x non-linear (including contacts) - implicit/explicit HyperWorks Optistruct - develop solutions and optimise designs.
3) Ability to lead a small team and plan and control their work, and to work fast and accurately as a member of that team.

Very competent in automotive body system and component development using engineering experience and CAE tools.
Demonstrated leadership of a small team in the delivery of body component stiffness and strength performance development using CAE to meet defined performance targets.
Requires supervision and/or assistance only where the issues or situation faced is highly complex and/or business critical.
Experience in other fields of strength and durability development may be acceptable if combined with appropriate software skills.
Able to work effectively with design teams to develop solutions within defined deadlines and time constraints.
Awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions.
Educated to a minimum of degree level in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical subject
Familiarity and experience of our clients working practices relating to CAE methods and processes.
