Position Description:

We have an immediate requirement for a Boiler and Fired Engineer to join the Consulting Services Department based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The Boiler and Fired Heater group of CSD is responsible for providing technical support to plant operations, new activities, standardization, manufacturers and maintaining company standards up to date on issues related to fired equipment, such as (fired heaters, boilers, burners, thermal reactors, incinerators, refractory, etc.).

Duties & Responsibilities:
Act as the company’s Fired Equipment (fired heaters, boilers, burners, thermal reactors, incinerators, refractory, etc.) engineer dealing with other Aramco departments. Conduct design, performance evaluation, monitoring and trouble-shooting of fired-equipment (fired heaters, boilers, burners, thermal reactors, incinerators, refractory, etc.). Act as a principal investigator in multidisciplinary investigations of major incidents. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve specific fired equipment failures. Develop and maintain Saudi Aramco’s engineering standards and design best practices to enhance company profitability, safety and productivity. Evaluate and introduce best practice and emerging technologies, related to fired equipment from all over the world, to help the company achieve best in class positions in the oil business. Identify and implement energy efficiency improvements. Conduct a design check for API heaters and steam/hydrogen reformer. Provide guidance on heater startup/shutdown procedures and abnormalities operation. Develop and deliver both classroom and practical fired equipment training for operators and engineers. Develop ideas for major technical studies or projects to be carried out by less senior specialists. Conduct field inspections and make recommendations for changes in facilities or operations. Promote a learning environment and implement self-development to maintain and improve expert status in highly specialized technical and general engineering fields. Deliver technical presentations and write papers in referred engineering journals. Actively participate in work of technical societies and participate on specialized committees and appropriate groups.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following experience, competencies and skillsets: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential. Nine years’ post-graduate experience as a process heater or boiler engineer.
