The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
Create (2D/3D) innovative Product/Graphic/Exterior/Interior/designs on all future product design projects. Must both protect and develop the values of the brand. Through research they will need to identify and promote new areas/partners for growth of the brand in non-automotive sectors.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Propose original themes and direction to grow the brand outside of the automotive sector.
Instruct licensees on the core values of the brand (design workshops etc.)
Propose and promote appropriate solutions either verbally or through 2D/3D presentation, to align licensees with core values.
Develop 2D/3D solutions directly for licensees where a “design service” has been agreed and purchased.
Support the brand manager in approving licensee design submissions (products, packaging, POS, etc.) or as appropriate provide constructive feedback, all in a strictly timely manner.
Create product positioning presentations.
Develop and maintain an design strategy document to cover product and lifestyle.
Identify and network with potential partners/clients for future developments and ventures.
Actively contribute in the creation, maintenance and development of the “brand book” and website.
Generation and presentation of innovative 2D Concepts (Sketches, Renderings, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Work with the design team to develop iteratively 2D concepts into 3D design theme property for design reviews and presentations.
Keep abreast of Design, Art, Colour & Trim, Technical and other relevant trend developments and innovation within automotive, furniture, product, luxury sector and other industries; create trend presentations as and when appropriate.
Carry out special projects, as directed by studio management.
Mature the chosen design theme models through Engineering Feasibility and process to Job1 conclusions where applicable
Liaise with suppliers to deliver world class products.
Communicate and work as part of a highly motivated & committed team to deliver projects on time and on budget.
Apply Craftsmanship best practices.
To lead the design strategy and execution of the brand extension program with the Design team, Brand Manager and brands to produce world class products and deliver the objectives of the Design Director the organisations wider community.
Communicate Design requirements to the wider community and work to challenging timetables and constraints.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a design related discipline.
At least 5 years’ experience in automotive, product & lifestyle or relevant industries with a sound understanding of design processes.
Excellent creativity, 2D sketching and rendering capabilities. Interpretative ability from 2D to 3D.
Must have excellent verbal communication and organisational skills, detail orientated and ability to work well under pressure. Experience conducting meetings and pitches to articulate views with fully thought through opinions.
